The betrayal of 'Grass Roots' football
During the last decade and a half football’s very foundations have been gradually eroded away by the greed perpetuated by Sky money. Selfish and self-centred Premier League clubs then add to this the total lack of leadership of an inward looking Football Association.
We will have a Premier League that is multi-cultural to such an extreme that we may actually struggle to find enough English players. It will only get worse, you have been warned!
The British Empire crumbled a while ago. You are now witnessing the erosion and disintegration of English football and in particular the almost certain demise of the national team.
Sir Bobby Robson and I fret at the corroding state of our national sport and like me he fears that millions of youngsters will never have the opportunity that we had in our youth to play sport.
Like Sir Bobby I have enjoyed fifty years in my chosen profession and I now make this plea to the authorities. Please build a platform for the future of our children’s health and happiness.

Other nationalities, especially the Australians, regard one victory in sport as just the bottom rung of the ladder. It is programmed into them to think, ‘we must win again!’ The more they sniff blood the harder they work.In this country we seem to take victory as an excuse for an almighty booze-up.
